INSTITUTE INITIATIVES AND SPECIAL PROJECTS
The Court-Connected Mediation Synergy Project
The Court-Connected Mediation Synergy Project is focused
on exploring court-connected mediation in light of the theoretical
framework of transformative mediation, and how court-connected mediation
programs can reflect relational values. This means exploring all
parameters of court-connected mediation programs, and developing
relational approaches to such practical matters as program design,
mediator selection, mediator training, mediator compensation, the use of
standardized forms, enabling legislation, Bench and Bar support, research
methods and protocols, and program quality control, to name a few. The
projects ultimate goal is to produce and make available to the field
concrete resources that elaborate the contours of a synergistic
court-connected mediation program and enable those who wish to implement
such a program to do so.
