Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation

Connecting transformative practitioners across the world

Remembering Baruch Bush

Baruch was a dear friend, a profound intellect and scholar, an excellent teacher and mentor, and a guiding presence in our community. We saw him at our February board meeting, just weeks before his passing.  We are grateful he joined us there, speaking so openly, and leaving us with hope.

We, at the ISCT, are sure of this: his work does not end here. We will carry it forward with the same steadiness and compassion he modeled for us. And we will continue to care for this approach Baruch loved so dearly—not only with resources and planning, but with presence, tenderness, and long-term commitment. He often called this work his "child"  And we will make sure his “child” is supported, protected, and never feels alone.

Baruch's Writings

Baruch's most recent article was published early in 2026 in the Harvard Negotiation Law Review Journal.   This article, "Self-Determination, Needs Satisfaction and Moral Growth – in Mediation and Negligence Law: A Paradigm Shift in Underlying Worldviews" explores an interesting connection between mediation and negligence law and the underlying worldviews.  Click the image to access the article.  We will share more of his articles here soon.

Writing in Honor of Baruch

We are grateful for those that are honoring Baruch by writing about him, his work, his like and his impact.  (Click on the title to read)

A Moral Choice: Baruch Bush and the True Promise of Mediation by Tara West, ISCT Fellow.
